H.E. Yasir Bin Othman Al-Rumayyan

Chairman - Non-Executive

His Excellency Yasir Bin Othman Al-Rumayyan is the Chairman of the Board of Maaden - Saudi Arabian Mining Company since the end of September 2019, the Governor of the Public Investment Fund since 2015, and serves as the advisor to the General Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, a position he has held since 2016.

His Excellency holds key positions on the boards of some of the world’s most influential companies and organizations, most notably as Chairman of Saudi Aramco, the world’s most valuable listed company, a position he has held since September 2019. He also holds the position of Chairman of Sanabil Investment Company since 2017 and board member of Uber Technologies Inc., SoftBank Group Corp., and ARM Limited, roles he has held since June 2016, August 2016, June 2017, and May 2018 respectively.

In addition, H.E. holds positions on the boards of key national organizations and companies, such as the Chairman of Noon Investment Company, Decision Support Center and Future Investment Initiative Institute. He is a board member on the board of the National Development Fund, Saudi Center for International Strategic Partnerships, NEOM, Red Sea Development Company and Amaala.

H.E. Al-Rumayyan holds a degree in Accounting from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s General Management Program.

His Excellency Yasir Bin Othman Al-Rumayyan is the Chairman of the Board of Maaden - Saudi Arabian Mining Company since the end of September 2019, the Advisor to the General Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Governor of the Public Investment Fund.

Abdulaziz AlJarbou

Deputy Chairman - Independent

Dr. Abdulaziz AlJarbou is the vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ma’aden. Dr. AlJarbou is recognized as one of the most renowned figures in the Saudi Arabian industrial sector. He was previously on the Board of Ma’aden from 1997 until 2011. Prior to rejoining Ma’aden’s Board, Dr. AlJarbou was the Chairman of the Board for SABIC from 2017 to 2020.

His other positions include being the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAQA between 2003 and 2011. He has served on the Board of Directors of Gulf Chemicals and Industrial Oils (GCI) since 2000. He also served as a Member of the Advisory Board of the Supreme Economic Council from 1999 to 2010 and Member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu from 1995 until 2003.

Dr. AlJarbou started his career as a Professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1976. He has a Master degree and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado School of Mines.

H.E. Suliman AlGwaiz

Independent

H.E. Sulaiman AlGwaiz was appointed to Ma’aden’s Board on 1 January 2014. Al-Gwaiz has been the Governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) since 2013.

Prior to his appointment to the Board, he held several senior positions in the banking industry in the Kingdom, working at Samba (formerly Saudi American Bank) and Riyad Bank, gaining experience across diverse functions. He was the Deputy CEO of Riyad Bank from 1991 to 2012. Since 1 October 2010 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Industrial Investment Group.

Al-Gwaiz secured his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Portland University, USA, in 1981.

H.E. Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer

Non-Executive

H.E. Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, the Deputy Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources (MEIM) was President and CEO of Ma’aden from 2011 to 2018. He led the company as it grew into a world class integrated national mining champion serving global markets.

Al-Mudaifer has 30 years of industrial experience, including 23 years in the mining sector and 24 years in executive leadership. Khalid joined Ma’aden in 2006 as Vice President for Phosphate and Business Development where he led the development of the Ma’aden Phosphate business and the master planning and development of Ras Al Khair Industrial City.

Prior to joining Ma’aden, Mr. Mudaifer President of the Qassim Cement Company from 1993 to 2006 and was Vice President and Director of Finance at the Eastern Petrochemical Company (Sharq/SABIC JV) from 1986 to 1993.

In the past, Khalid has held a number of board memberships with Qassim Cement and Saudi Arabian Railways, the Gulf International Bank, the International Fertilizer Association (IFA), the US Saudi Arabia Business Council (USSABC) and a number of social and government committees, boards and councils.

He holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

H.E. Eng. Khalid Bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer

Non-Executive

H.E. Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM) was President and CEO of Ma’aden from 2011 to 2018. He led the company as it grew into a world class integrated national mining champion serving global markets.

Al-Mudaifer has 30 years of industrial experience, including 23 years in the mining sector and 24 years in executive leadership. Richard O’Brien

Non-Executive

Richard O’Brien was appointed to Ma’aden’s Board effective 25 October, 2017. He was Chief Financial Officer and later CEO of Newmont Mining Corporation, one of the world’s largest gold mining companies, during 2005-13.

During 1984-2000, he held several positions including that of Operations Manager and CFO at PacifiCorp, working in coal mining, power generation, distribution and transportation. He is a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of electricity company Xcel Energy, where he also chairs the Audit Committee and is member of the Operations Committee and Environment and Safety Committee. He sits on the Board of Directors of Vulcan Materials Company, which produces construction materials, and chairs the Audit and Environment and Safety committees.

O’Brien secured his bachelor’s degree in Economy from Chicago University, USA and professional doctorate in law from Lewis & Clark Law School, USA.

Mohammed AlQahtani

Non-Executive

Dr. Mohammed AlQahtani is a Non-Executive member on Ma’aden’s Board of Directors. Dr. AlQahtani is also currently the Senior Vice President of Downstream at Saudi Aramco. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of Saudi Aramco Jubail Refinery Company (SASREF); the Dhahran Techno Valley Company (DTVC) Advisory Committee and the King Salman Energy City Development Company.

Dr. AlQahtani has held multiple positions since he first joined Saudi Aramco in 1983. In 2009, he assumed the position of Executive Director of Petroleum, before becoming the Vice President of Petroleum Engineering and Development in 2011. In 2013, he was named Vice President of Corporate Affairs and a year later, he was appointed Vice President of Corporate Planning. His most recent position prior to his current post at Saudi Aramco is Senior Vice President of Upstream, which he assumed in 2016.

He holds a Master’s degree and a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Eng. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Issa

Independent

Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Issa was appointed to Ma’aden’s Board on 28 April 2016. He has a unique portfolio of experience as a leading businessman.

He is the chairman of Abdullah Mohammed Al-Issa Consulting Engineering, Riyad Bank and Dur Hospitality. He also sits on the boards of leading companies including SABIC and Etihad-Etisalat (Mobily).

Al-Issa holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management from Southern Methodist University, USA.

Samuel Walsh

Non-executive

Dr. Samuel Walsh is a Non-Executive member on Ma’aden’s Board of Directors. He is also currently on the Board of Perth Mint, Mitsui & Co. and Accenture.

Dr. Samuel Walsh was Rio Tinto’s Chief Executive from 2013 until 2016; the Chief Executive at Rio Tinto Iron Ore from 2004 to 2013 and the Chief Executive of Rio Tinto Ammonium from 2001 until 2004.

Dr. Samuel Walsh holds two Honorary Doctor of Commerce degrees from the University of Western Australia and Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia. He is also a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, the Australian Academy of Technical Sciences and Engineering and the Australian Institute of Management.

Abdallah bin Jum'ah

Independent

Abdallah bin Jum'ah is an independent Board member in Ma’aden company since, 09 January 2020. Mr. Al Jum’ah is the Chairman of The Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB), member of the Halliburton Company board and the Saudi Co-Chairman of the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council.

He is the former president and chief executive officer of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) for 14 years. During his presidency of the company and until December 2008, he held the membership of Saudi Aramco's Board of Directors, in addition to his membership in the Supreme Council for Petroleum and Minerals Affairs.

He studied political science at the American University in Cairo and Beirut, and later, completed an administrative development program at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Mosaed Al Ohali

Chief Executive Officer

Engineer Mosaed Al Ohali was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and board member of Ma’aden on 1st April 2020. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industrial and petrochemical sectors in Saudi Arabia with him to the role. His experience spans manufacturing, business, sales & marketing, investment, finance, mega-project management, talent development and risk management.

Before joining Ma’aden, Mosaed worked at SABIC for over 30 years, where he most recently served as Senior Executive Advisor to the CEO. During his time at SABIC, he held a range of top-level executive positions including Group Chief Financial Officer; Executive Vice President of the Polymers and Manufacturing business segments; Chief Operating Officer of the SABIC Europe group and Vice President of SABIC Fertilizers.

Engr. Mosaed started his career at the Saudi Petrochemical Company, SADAF as a chemical engineer and ended his journey with SADAF in 2010 as the President of the company. After that, Mosaed led the formation of SABIC Manufacturing organization.

Al Ohali served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for several SABIC and non-SABIC affiliates. He currently serves as a member of certain government committees and nonprofit organizations.

Mosaed holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.

Nabila AlTunisi

Independent

Eng. Nabila AlTunisi is an Independent member on Ma’aden’s Board of Directors. She is also currently the Executive Director of Programs at Saudi Arabia’s Royal Court.

From 2018 to 2019, she was the Managing Director of energy and water sector at NEOM. Nabila joined Saudi Aramco in 2009, where she held various technical and managerial positions. Her last position at Saudi Aramco was Chief Engineer.

Eng. Nabila holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Oregon State University and an Executive MBA from Stanford University.

Ganesh Kishore

Non-Executive

Dr. Ganesh Kishore is a Non-Executive member on Ma’aden’s Board of Directors. He is the Co-Founder and current Managing Partner at Spruce Capital Partners.

Dr. Kishore has more than 30 years of experience in the agriculture and nutrition biotechnology industries. He worked at Monsanto from 1980 until 2000 where he eventually served as the company’s President of Nutrition & Consumer Sector. He was named as a Distinguished Science Fellow during his tenure. He later joined DuPont as the Chief Technology Officer of Agriculture & Nutrition before becoming its Chief Biotechnology Officer.

He serves on the Board of several academic institutions and companies. He received a PhD in Biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science and postdoctoral training in chemistry and biology at the University of Texas at Austin.

Abdulaziz Asker Al-Harbi

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Engr. Abdulaziz Al Harbi was appointed as Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ma’aden on 25th April 2021. His experience spans more than 30 years in project management, planning and operations.

Prior to his current role, he was the Executive Vice President for Shared Services, Security and Safety. and before that he was the President for Ma’aden Gold and Base Metals (MGBM), Ma’aden Aluminum Company and Ma’aden Phosphate, which he led from project phase until they became operational.

Al Harbi joined Ma’aden on 16 January,2007 as President of Ma’aden Phosphate Company (MPC). Before joining Ma’aden, Engr. Abdulaziz worked for Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO) as Director General, Operations, Technical and Expansion from 2002-2007.

From 1998-2002 he held the position of General Manager, Planning and Operations in Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).

Al Harbi served as the Chairman of ERADH Association, he is also member of Jubail City Council, US-Saudi Arabian Business Council and Rajhi Steel.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University, and a certificate in Advanced Management and leadership program from Oxford.

Yaser Bin Abdulrauf Barri

Acting Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance

Yaser Bin Abdulrauf Barri is acting Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance at Ma’aden. He is also currently the Chairman of the Board at Ma’aden Infrastructure Company (MIC).

Yaser brings decades of financial management expertise and institutional knowledge to the role, having joined Ma’aden as a Senior Accountant when the company was founded in 1997. He has since held multiple positions at Ma’aden, including Ma’aden Financial Controller and Head of Investor Relations, Ma’aden Treasurer, Vice President of Finance at Ma’aden Wa’ad Shamal Phosphate Company (MWSPC) and most recently Vice President of Financial Reporting and Investor Relations.

Prior to joining Ma’aden, Yaser worked in financial positions at other private sector players in the industrial and petrochemical space.

Yaser holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from King Abdulaziz University.

Khaled Bin Sulaiman Alohali

Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategic Affairs and Communication

Khaled Alohali joined Ma’aden in 2014 as a Vice President of Strategy, Planning and Development. He also led the Ma’aden Aluminum’s strategy until he was appointed into his current role. He is an alternate member of the MBAC and MAC Board of Directors, and a member of MRC Board of Directors.

In the 20 years prior to joining Ma’aden, Khaled held leadership positions in the public and private sectors. He worked at the Project Management Office of Saudi Arabian Economic Offset Program, was a consultant for the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and was the Vice President of the National Industrial Clusters Development Program. He led the Saudi side of the Saudi-Japan Industrial Cooperation Taskforce and also had a stint as the Vice President of Charles River Associates International (CRA International) and was the Managing Director in Saudi Arabia.

Alohali holds a BSc in mechanical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.

Ibrahim M. Al Amer

Senior Vice President, Human Capital

Mr. Ibrahim Al Amer joined Ma'aden in December 2019 with more than 24 years of experience in leading strategic human capital in several sectors. Mr. Al Amer contributed to enhancing the orientation of top managements to achieve revenue growth and profitability and to enhance the productive work environment. Al Amer as Influencer and Transformation architecture of world-class Human Capital Development offering excellence in human resources leadership, creating innovative benefit and wellness programs, and implementing strategic HR function for high-growth in numerous sectors ranging from Manufacturing, FMCG, Telecom, Retail, Construction, Healthcare and before joining Ma’aden Mr. Al Amer was the Deputy Minister of Commerce and Investment for Shared Services.

Al Amer Holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Imam Mohammed Bin Saud University-1994, and master’s degree in business administration from the University of Hull, UK – 2004, and completed the Senior Executive Program from London Business School in 2019

Riyadh Bin Sa’ad Al-Nassar

Senior Vice President, Aluminium SBU

Riyadh Bin Sa’ad Al-Nassar joined Ma’aden Phosphate Company (MPC) in early 2013 as VP Technical, was promoted to President in mid-2014, and in 2016 was appointed Ma’aden VP of Project Management and Engineering with added responsibility of leading the Consolidated Support Services (CSS) in an acting capacity. He is the Board member of Ma’aden Wa’ad Al Shamal Phosphate Company.

He has more than 20 years experience in engineering, project management, planning and maintenance. Al-Nassar worked as project engineer at Eastern Petrochemical Company (SHARQ), as project manager at SAFCO and later joined MARAFIQ as manager of the Design and Projects Department. In 2006, he joined the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) Interconnection Authority as Director of Planning, Engineering and Project Management.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.

Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Najim

Vice President, Projects (PME) and Business Improvement

Mr. Al-Najim draws on more than 30 years of experience in both the petrochemical and Mineral processing industry. He joined Ma’aden at the beginning of 2009 and assumed his present position on January 2018, and was before that the Vice President, Technical at Ma’aden Phosphate Company.

Earlier, he held a Vice Chairman role with JV partner (Alcoa) for the execution of Ma’aden Aluminum Smelter Project and had the opportunity in leading the establishment of PM&E division as part of Ma’aden Organization to be a center of excellence and expertise of Project Management.

He held also an executive role in leading Ma’aden Transformation Program including the establishment of Ma’aden Academy with the principal aim of helping the Company morph into a “World Class Minerals Enterprise” and to achieve an organic change focused on capability building – people, processes, practices, and technology.

Before joining Ma’aden, Mr. Al-Najim has also held a number of prominent leadership positions in SABIC, where he successfully led a diverse array of functions covering technical, operational, shared services, including a solid record of accomplishment in both Engineering and Project Management.

Mr. Al-Najim is currently the Board Chairman of the Ma’aden Industrial Mineral Company, Board Member of Ma’aden Wa’ad Alshamal Company (MWSPC), Board member of Ma’aden Fertilizer Company (MFC) and he was earlier a Board member of Ma’aden Gold & Base Metal (MGBM) Company. He is also holding the Chairman role for Ma’aden Digitalization Committee.

A graduate of the King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals, where he earned a BSc in Systems / Automation Engineering; Mr. Al-Najim has also completed many professional courses in world-class institutions such as LONDON Business School and INSEAD Business School.

Emad Mahmoud Al-Saadawi

Vice President, Corporate Exploration

Emad Bin Mahmoud Al-Saadawi joined Ma’aden in 1992 and was appointed VP, Exploration in 2016. He leads a team of geoscience specialists providing innovative solutions to mineral exploration.

He has more than 24 years of extensive experience in mineral exploration in various senior roles as Chief Exploration Geologist, Chief Evaluation Geologist (Ore Resource Modeller) and Director, Exploration Technical Services. He was a Board Member of Industrial Minerals Company (IMC) and currently sits on the board of MGBM.

Al-Saadawi earned a bachelor’s degree in earth science from King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, in 1992 and, a master’s degree in mineral resources from the University of Wales, UK in 1996.

Eng. Hassan Madani M. AlAli

Senior Vice President, Phosphate and IM Business

Hassan AlAli Joined Ma’aden in 2010 as a Senior Manager, Strategy Planning and Business Development. He has since occupied other senior roles, such as, Director, Strategy Planning and Business Development, General Manager of Ma’aden Industrial Minerals Company (MIMC), VP Operations in Ma’aden Phosphate Company (MPC) in early 2014, was promoted to President in early 2016. In 2018, he was appointed as Ma’aden VP of Projects and Manufacturing with added responsibility of SVP leading the Phosphate and Industrial Minerals Business in an acting capacity.

AlAli has more than 25 years’ experience in petrochemical business, project management, plant operation management and business planning. He began his career at Tabuk Cement Company as project engineer in 1993. He moved to Arabian Industrial Fibers Company (IBN RUSHD – SABIC Yanbu) in 1994 where he held various roles in commissioning, production and business planning and later joined SABIC HQ in 2007 as business manager of the Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Polymer SBU.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering(Production) from King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah.

David Schummer

Senior Vice President, Gold and Base Metals

David has almost 30 years of experience in the mining industry including 22 years at Newmont Mining Corporation, the world’s second largest Gold Company, and a number of years at New Gold.

David has worked in both North America and Africa and has led the development of major mining projects as well as successfully implementing organizational change to achieve sustainable improvements in health and safety, and operational efficiency.

Ayed Hamoud Al-Mutairi

Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Development

Mr. Ayed started his career as a marketing executive in a Saudi consumer product Co. (GHI), and then joined SABIC for 16 years with multiple roles within the fertilizer international team including an international assignment in Singapore.

Joined Ma’aden in 2010 and served in several roles including heading the Industrial Minerals Co.

During his career, he served in several boards (currently Ma’aden Phosphate Company board member) and other roles in regional and international associations (Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Arab Fertilizer Association, Regional ambassador of the International Fertilizer Association and member of the GPCA fertilizer committee).

Stephen Bodley

Chief Legal Counsel

Stephen Bodley joined Ma’aden in September 2013. He has over 20 years legal and business leadership experience, much of it in the mining and energy sectors.

Before joining Ma’aden, Bodley was the SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Sherritt International Inc a mining company with significant assets in Canada, Cuba and Madagascar. Previously he worked with the North American subsidiary of Centrica plc a UK-based FTSE 30 energy company, and was a partner in one of Canada’s leading law firms.

Bodley earned his Honors BA in economics from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada and law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto.

Raminder Singh

Chief Legal Counsel

Raminder Singh joined Ma’aden in February 2020 as Chief Legal Counsel (Legal, Governance and Compliance). He is a senior international lawyer with almost 30 years’ experience of providing legal and C-suite strategic advisory expertise on all aspects of complex, multi-faceted projects and their associated financings.

His industry experience spans numerous sectors; including multi-billion dollar greenfield and other investments made into mining, industrial complexes, processing plants, refineries and petrochemicals facilities, infrastructure, light and heavy rail, ports and receiving terminals.

He has an extensive premier global law firm background. He trained and qualified with Baker & McKenzie and thereafter held senior positions at Linklaters, Shearman & Sterling and Vinson & Elkins (at equity partner level).

Following his private practice career, he served for a 5 year term as the Chief Legal Counsel to a substantial industrial conglomerate with multi-billion dollar investments in energy, metals and mining, steel and other processing plants, ports, shipping and construction.

He graduated in 1990 from the University of Leicester (UK) with a Bachelor of Laws degree (awarded 1st class Hons). He is a member of The Law Society of England & Wales, is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and admitted to practice in England & Wales (1993) and Hong Kong SAR (1995).
